My career has many perks, and chief among them is the opportunity to meet the people “behind the chair” so to speak. This industry is packed to the brim with talent, from hairstylists, manicurists, makeup artists, and of course, estheticians, the skin wizards that keep our eager mugs glowing, lifted, and pimple-free. Receiving a facial is, without a doubt, one of my all-time favorite activities — right behind sleeping in late and spending a sunny day at the beach — and both the quality of my skin and the knowledge I’ve gained from the last 10 years of consistent appointments speaks volumes about their benefits.
Now, do I think that you need to book a standing facial every month to achieve “perfect” skin? Absolutely not. They are a luxury in the truest sense of the word, but that definitely doesn’t mean they don’t have value. On the contrary, if you’re struggling to figure out a skincare that works for you and helps you reach your skin goals, then speaking to a professional is absolutely the way to go. For myself, I’ve learned a great deal about products and techniques that help my skin look and feel its best for meeting with estheticians, but it’s the often overlooked benefits that keep me coming back as often as I can.
