For those of us in the beauty industry, it’s peak season for new product launches, which means our inboxes are bursting at the seams with press releases and offers to try any and everything for editorial review. This is a perk, I realize that, but for someone who has been in the business for over a decade, I’ll admit that it makes feel a little tired. There are only so many creams I can slather on my face at one time, unless I want to irritate my skin beyond repair.

A post-facial glow for the ages!

That’s not to say I don’t enjoy restocking my personal beauty closet with my favorite goodies to keep my hair, skin, and nails looking 🔥 but it does make me concerned for anyone trying to navigate the overly abundant newness and find their go-to product lineup. This is especially true for skincare, which continues to lead the beauty category in terms of net sales. And for something that takes at least a month to determine whether or not it’s actually working, how the hell do you decide what’s worth your dollars and what’s just okay?
