A Holiday Gift Guide of Stuff I*Actually* Want: Part 2
Accessories make the world go 'round.
Buying clothes is a gifting minefield. You never know how something is going to fit, and unless you’re close enough that you know the contents of their closet backwards and forwards, it can be tough to fill the wardrobe gaps and find things they’ll actually wear (as opposed to a special occasion outfit which honestly still requires some specific guidelines before you add to cart). I’m in the camp of people who rather enjoy when someone asks for exact items I want, but I also understand that surprising your friends and loved ones is half the fun of holiday shopping.
Enter: accessories!
I *love* accessories, even though for a long time I didn’t invest a significant amount of money into them. It can feel much more exciting to pick up a cute new dress or pair of pants, but once you hit a certain age and more or less know the silhouettes, colors, and patterns you like to wear, they are the secret sauce for making your sweater and jeans or skirt and t-shirt feel fresh and new again. Basically, don’t discount the power of accessories, and if you have people in your life who are interested in contributing to your closet collection this holiday season, I highly suggest you guide them in this direction.
Let’s get into it!
